July in MN

I am so far behind in my blog, I don't even know where to start so I am skipping ahead to present and will hopefully go back and back post some stuff.

We headed to MN on July 3rd and the kids and I will be here until July 24th! After a leak in our water pump and about a 7 hour delay in Cincinnati, we finally hit the road around noon. We are just thankful that we discovered the problem before we left and didn't have car trouble along the way. Since we left so late we decided we were going to avoid Chicago and I thought we were heading through Rockford but Brads phone was taking us through Iowa. After 12 hours of being in the car we finally made it to my parents house in Bloomington. We had planned on going all the way to the cabin but due to the late start, it was midnight by the time we hit the cities and none of us had it in us to go any further. Diana only napped for 45 minutes but did finally fall asleep around 10 pm. Jonathan fell asleep around 10 pm as well but otherwise was awake. The kids watched a lot of movies but did some of the activities I brought along. I think the favorite was their "presents" after stops and painting sun catchers. The kids were back up at 6 am and off we headed to the cabin. We made it to cabin in 2 hours, which is a record, and got up there before anyone was even out of bed! We finally made it to paradise, as my dad called it, and seems already like it was worth the drive!
