The kids got spoiled by Nana and Grandpa Gordy today and went to nickelodeon universe (indoor amusement park) at the Mall of America. The kids went there in February when my family watched them and I heard stories of this place but I got to witness first hand how excited the kids were about the rides. A the breakfast table I had Nana tell them where we were going and the kids squealed. Jonathan said he really wanted to do the bumper cars and Diana kept saying what I thought was "run around" which would be true too but i realized a little while later she was saying merry-go-round. Those were the first rides the kids went on, after a quick stop at the semi-truck ride. Jonathan has grown since February so he was able to go on more rides and alone on some this time. His favorite ride from last time, was being fixed when we first got there but luckily it got fixed quickly and he saw that it was working while he was up in the swings. He enjoyed the swings but couldn't get over to the "splat-o-sphere" fast enough. He was able to do this ride on his own, last time grandpa Gordy and uncle Jason had to go on it, I think grandpa Gordy was happy he didn't have to go on it. Diana desperately wanted to go on these race cars so she went with grandpa Gordy and Jonathan. I don't think they were as fun to her as she thought they were going to be as they turned the corner really quickly but Jonathan was having a blast on them. We took a break and Jonathan went miniature golfing with Grandpa Gordy while Diana, Nana and I hit up the American doll store. On our way out, we had enough points for each kid to pick one more ride. Jonathan chose the log chute and apparently grandpa Gordy didn't really want to go but before I knew that Jonathan and him were already in a log and off. Jonathan said that was his favorite ride so I guess it was worth Grandpa Gordy getting wet. Diana picked the blues clues puppy ride and Jonathan was tall enough to be her chaperon so the two got to ride in the same puppy together. It was adorable and appeared to be Diana's favorite ride. Jonathan has no fear and wanted to go on every ride possible, even ones he wasn't big enough for. Diana on the other hand had fun, she was jumping up and down and getting really excited, but i think she is going to be more like her mom and not a big ride person. It was a great morning! Thanks Nana and Grandpa Gordy!
