Hunting

I am up in Minnesota for the week (Dec 26th - Jan 2nd). The boys went phesant hunting today...hopefully I will get to go when I get older. It was Uncle Jason's birthday today. Happy Birthday!

Merry Christmas

Mommy, Daddy and I got to open all of our gifts this morning. I am not that interested in presents yet...I tried to tell Mom and Dad "Just Wait." It was a good first Christmas!

Merry Christmas Eve

This afternoon Mommy, Daddy and I went to the Children's Christmas mass and now I am off to bed. I am excited for Santa to come tonight. Oh and I am cutting my other lower front tooth (my right side). I think I like to get teeth over holidays!

Mommy Stealing Kisses

Mommy stole kisses under the mistletoe tonight. Daddy thinks it's funny because I look so thrilled.

Oh Christmas Tree

I love the Christmas tree! Every morning when I come downstairs and I see the tree, I say: "ohhhh." I like to try and pull off the ornaments or touch the lights!

Such a Good Boy

Do you like my shirt? It says "Dear Santa, I have been good all year (just ask my mommy)!" The Kevern family bought me this onsie and a pair of jeans. Thank you!!! I think I am going to get extra presents because of it.

Reading the Newspaper

Daddy loves to read the newspaper and so do I! Well, I actually like to wave the pages around or rip them and then Daddy gets mad. Once Daddy is done reading the paper though he lets me do whatever I want with it.

My New Favorite Play Spot

Now that I can stand, I love to play over by the microwave. Sometimes my legs slip and I start to do the splits, but normally Mommy will save me.

On the Move

Go Go Go! Look at me go! I am crawling all over the place and loving it. I get to pick out which toys I want to play with and of course get into mischief with my curiosity. Mommy and Daddy like to keep putting my santa hat on me but when I wear daddy's, I can't see.

Standing Up

On to the next thing...now that I know how to crawl, I want to learn how to stand. Mission accomplished. Yesterday Mommy caught me standing in my bed and Tara watched me pull myself up on her living room table. I want to pull myself up on all of my toys and stand. Mommy is worried that I am going to fall out of my bed so Daddy is going to lower it tonight.

Buddy Dean

I love playing with my friend Dean. A few days ago Tara took our pictures. Don't we look cute!?!?!

I like to touch Dean's face...sometimes I can be a bit rough. Mommy keeps telling me to just wait until Dean gets a little older and can fight back. I think I might be in trouble!

Santa Attempt #2

We joined the Hyde Park Parent Exchange (HPPE) and we went to the holiday party today. I wasn't so sure about Santa this time but I did get to see lots of my friends.

Crawling

Sippy Cup

I am trying how to drink from a sippy cup. I like to chew on it or bang it on my highchair and watch the water spray out, I don't really drink from it yet.

Crawling

Well Mommy and Daddy agree that they can finally say that I am officially crawling. I am getting better and better every day. I can definitely get to places now if I want to. Watch out!!! They are trying to caputure this on video...stay tuned.

Thank You GB & Grandpa

I am very sad to be back in Cincy. I had a wonderful week with everyone in Florida. Mommy says it is back to reality now...not sure what that means yet. Thank you GB and Grandpa for allowing us to come stay with you for a week and spend Thanksgiving together. I was a good little boy on the plane home...slept the entire time.

Tooth Sighting

I am getting my first tooth...my bottom left. Mommy and daddy noticed a slit on Saturday and on Sunday they could see the start of my tooth. Mommy says it is as sharp as a pin. You can barely see it so we don't have a picture of it yet. I did like to chew on things while I was in Florida to help cut my tooth. Daddy gave me bread, pretzels, and crackers. It was fun!

Santa

Today I got to meet Santa for the first time. At GB and Grandpa's country club, they had a Christmas tree lighting party and Santa was there. I liked to feel Santa's beard and furry outfit.

On the way home from the party, I was being really funny in the car. Mommy says I was slap happy because it was past my bedtime and I was excited to be still up. I told her I was just excited to have met Santa.

Swimming

I got to go swimming for the first time. I loved the pool...especially the first day. I was kicking and moving my arms, as if I already knew how to swim. On Saturday, GB decided to take me under the water...I didn't really like that. She will have to work with me this summer on my swimming lessons.

Thanksgiving

I am truly blessed to have such a wonderful family! I enjoyed spending the entire week with my Mommy and Daddy...and they didn't have to work! I got to meet my Great Grandma Long and Mike, spend a lot of quality time with GB, Grandpa and Uncle Kyle. I did miss my Nana, Grandpa Hoehn, Auntie Heidi and Uncle Jason, but am looking forward to spending the week after x-mas with them. I am very thankful to have you all part of my life!

Uncle Kyle!!!

Uncle Kyle is down in Florida with us now! For some reason I love to grab his nose, turn away and giggle. It's a fun game. I also like to sit up like a big boy on the couch with my uncle Kyle and Daddy. Remotes are my new favorite toy.

Daddy Play Time

Daddy is so much fun! I am very happy to have him all to myself for the entire week. We like to play together.

Naples Beach

We got to go to the beach today...GB, Great Grandma Long, Daddy and Mommy joined me. I wasn't too sure about it...I was a little scared. It was also getting late in the day (4 pm) and I hadn't been sleeping well so I am blaming it on the fact that I was tired.

Love the Weather

I love being in Florida...I get to go for daily walks and play outside all day! If we were in Cincy, I would be stuck inside all day. I am getting spoiled by the nice weather.

First Trip to Florida

Mommy, Daddy, GB, Grandpa and I all flew to Naples, FL today to spend the week down here. I was a very good little boy on the plane, slept for part of the flight and then just played with Mommy and Daddy the rest of the way. So far I have gotten to eat bread from Panera (Daddy gave it to me and I loved it!), play with sticks and went for a walk in my new stroller that we get to keep down here. We hope to go to the beach this week and teach me how to swim in GB and Grandpa's pool! Uncle Kyle and Great Grandma Long will be joining us later this week.

Sitting Up Not Sleeping

So today Mommy put me down for a nap and I was being really quite so she looked at the monitor and thought maybe I was asleep. I fooled her! I was sitting up in my crib. I was pretty proud of myself. First time for me to sit up on my own from my back. Shortly after, I laid down on my belly and took a nap!

Monkey Socks

In honor of my Auntie Heidi today, I am wearing my monkey shirt and monkey socks. Aren't they fun socks?!?! I like to play with them and pull them off my feet.

Feeding Myself

Daddy likes to think I am a big boy...he lets me feed myself my bottle. He reclines my highchair, pushes the air out of my bottle and then I can drink by myself while we watch football. I kind of make a mess though which Mommy doesn't like so much.

Kisses

I love my Mommy and Daddy so much! This morning Mommy and Daddy were still pretty sleepy but I wanted to play at 6:30 am....so I got to play in Mommy and Daddy's bed while they tried to wake up. I wanted to show Mommy how much I loved her, so I leaned into her face and kissed her on the cheek. I don't know how to pucker my lips or smack when I kiss yet but I am getting the idea. Mommy and Daddy thought this was very sweet!

My Buddy Dean

While Mommy is working, I get to spend the day with Ms. Tara and my buddy Dean. Sometimes we play at my house and other days we play at Dean's house. I am teaching Dean, who is 6 weeks younger than me, how to jump and squeal. We are best of buds!

Happy

I am a pretty happy little guy. Here I am sporting one of my new outfits from Nana and Auntie Heidi.

YUMMY!

I am learning how to eat "puffs" now. After my morning nap, I get a fruit and oatmeal. Applesauce or pears are my favorite. Then I get a vegteable for dinner. Sweet potatoes or carrots are my favorite. Mom tries to get me to eat "puffs" too but they just stick to my hands.

COOOOLLLDDD!

It's getting cold outside! What happened to summer? Mommy makes me wear a hat when we go outside now. I am not sure if I like it yet or not.

Hunting Boots

While my Grandpa Gordy and Uncle Jason were out hunting, Nana and Auntie Heidi came to visit and they bought me my first pair of hunting boots! Can you tell they are training me to be a little hunter?

Nana and Auntie Heidi Visit

My Auntie Heidi and Nana came to visit this weekend. We had a lot of fun playing and they spoiled me with lots of new clothes. I wish they could come see me every weekend! Auntie Heidi got to see me play with new jungle toy and Nana got to feed me sweet potatoes. What fun!

Rolling Over

Jonathan is all over the place now with rolling over. He moves all around his crib now and prefers to sleep on his side or tummy. You can also see the new toy Nana and Grandpa bought him...which he loves.

Swinging

Jonathan likes to go swinging at the park. The first time he went swinging was when we were staying with GB and Grandpa when we didn't have power for a week...Sept. 12th. This was taken on Sunday, Nov 1st...it was gorgeous outside.

Happy Halloween

Jonathan enjoyed being a lion for Halloween. Although he was ready for bed at 5:30, we made him last until 6:30. All of the other kids complimented Jonathan on his costume. One little girl said, "Your baby is a lion...is he Simba (from Lion King)?"

Pumpkin Patch #2

My friend Dean and I went to a pumpkin patch today. Dean slept almost the entire time and I got to go on my first hayride. It was quite fun.

Nana & Granpa Visit

My Nana and Grandpa Hoehn came to visit me and stayed for almost a week! I really enjoyed my walks with them and being spoiled! When are you coming back!?!?

Pumpkin Patch

My friend Alex and I went to a pumpkin patch with our mommy and daddy's today. I wasn't quite sure about the hay on my feet and was quite distracted by it. Shonda was able to get some pictures of me though, since mommy's camera was dead.

This is how I sleep...

No matter what Mommy and Daddy do, I always end up with a burp cloth over my face to fall asleep. Mommy and Daddy think I am silly but they say "whatever works" and if I don't cry they are happy.
