Trick-or-Treating

Not the best Halloween weather this year. In fact, some cities moved Halloween until the 1st but not Norwood. We got across the street to the Bajorek house (1st stop) and it started to down pour. It rained on and off all night. The kids plowed through though and we were out for about an hour. Thankfully I had Nana and Grandpa Gordy to help me with the kids, not sure I could have done it otherwise. Jonathan was trick-or-treating with Alex and Evan and going much faster than Diana could keep up with. At one point Diana didn't want to carry her bucket anymore because she said "Too much. Too heavy." but she still didn't want to go home, she kept on trick-or-treating. I didn't get very many good pictures because of the weather and two no matter how prepared I think I am for Halloween or try and keep dinner simple, we are always crazy people trying to get out the door.

Jonathan's Halloween Party

Jonathan had a busy day today at school. He had a Halloween parade around the school, which was adorable and so fun to see all the different costumes. Then he had a party in his classroom which Nana, Grandpa Gordy, Diana and I all attended. It was a lot of fun to see Jonathan with all his classmates.
Jonathan is the Ninja in the middle of the pic.

Carving Pumpkins

Jonathan could not wait to carve pumpkins! It has been a tradition to carve them with Nana and Grandpa Gordy. Jonathan was not home from school for 10 minutes the day they arrived before he asked if we could carve pumpkins. Typically Grandpa just takes all the guts out of the pumpkins, but with Diana wanting to carve this year it got a little more involved for Grandpa Gordy. He got to carve from stencils! Not sure he has carved more than a couple pumpkins in his life and Diana got him to carve 4 with her. It's amazing what grandparents will do for their grandkids.

Diana's Halloween Party

Diana had her Halloween party today at school. She got to wear her costume and go trick-or-treating around the school. So fun! Her friend Olivia was Abby from Seaseme Street (homemade costume, love it), and then her friends Lauren and Madden were princesses.

Hilarious Hair Day

Jonathan had hilarious hair day at school today. He requested a mohawk. His buddy Alex helped bring his hair to a whole another level by letting Jonathan use some of his red and blue hair spray.

Remind you of anyone?

If anyone witnessed my childhood, does this picture remind you of anyone? If Diana wants something, she is gonna get it. She doesn't need to wait for Mom to help her, she will just do it herself.

Hiking

A hiking we will go...After breakfast this morning, the kids were a little rambunctious, and I said to Brad, these kids need to run. So we decided to go on a hike at the Lindner park in Norwood. Jonathan had a blast just being a boy and listening to Daddy talk about different parts of the woods and property. Diana 5 minutes into said, let's go home but I sidetracked her with finding pretty leaves and other random things in the woods. She turned one stick into her choo choo train and was entertained by that for a while. It was a great Sunday family adventure.

Bedtime Battles

Let the fun begin. We are back to some bedtime battles with Diana. It's been "another book" for awhile now but lately it's been a race to the door to turn the light on. I can hardly get the door shut before she has the light back on. Thankfully, she just turns the light on and does I don't know what for a little while and then normally turns it back off and crawls into bed. We all think it's her way of being in control of her bedtime. Only one time has she opened her door and come downstairs. Sometimes the light will still be on when we put Jonathan to bed but when we go in to turn it off, she is asleep in her bed. For now, I am just going to let her do her thing. Hopefully it is just a phase.

Trunk-or-Treat

We had trunk-or-treat tonight at St. Mary's. It's the whole reason why I stepped up to run POPS (Parents of Preschoolers) this year. I love this event! Not only is it fun, but I think it helps little ones get used to their costumes and understand what trick-or-treating is all about in a safe environment before Halloween. I lost Diana at one point but found her eating her candy with the girls. Luckily she had Alivia to help her open her candy. The girl loves her candy! So different than Jonathan. She probably would have ate her whole pumpkin if I would have let her. My friend's daughter, Presley, won the cutest costume (elephant) in my opinion!

Hi Daddy

Every time, which is often (at least 2 times a day), we pass Brad's office, Diana waves and says Hi Daddy! It is the cutest thing ever. Sometime she will ask to call him so she can tell him she wants to go to the zoo.

Daddy's Office

We finally have keys to Daddy's new office! Brad got them today and took us down to see the place after dinner. He will be in the Scripts building on the 22nd floor. We went after hours and had to have security help us unlock the elevators. Afterwards, Jonathan said "Daddy I think I know the code." We didn't think much of it but the next day when Brad found out the code, Jonathan had it all correct except he missed one button. Brad and I were amazed. As Brad said, "He could rob a bank with Jonathan." Jonathan is so smart and observant!

Happy Birthday GB & Kyle

We celebrated GB and Uncle Kyle's birthday today. Jonathan decided that we should make the birthday cake and picked out a polka dot cake (the dots were inside the cake, didn't turn out the way I would have liked but it's the thought that counts). Brad claims that I am never funny so when I came up with writing celebrating 91 years on the cake, he was taken back. He made me so nervous that I was going to be in trouble. Luckily GB and Kyle liked their cake. GB also requested tiara's for her party, which was a fun addition.

Pretty Girl

We are in trouble. She is already very much into her jewelry. Not sure her little neck can hold any more necklaces.

Zoo with Natalie

Diana finally got to go to the zoo with Natalie. Diana talks about going to the zoo almost daily and normally it's her and Daddy going. Lately she has been asking if Natalie could go too so the Dad's planned it and Jonathan and I crashed the fun.

Within moments of being in the car, both girls were asleep! Love that Natalie fell asleep eating.

Paint the Town Pink

We only have a few short days left with GB & Grandpa Weeks before they head to Florida. They came down to join us for dinner tonight. It was Paint the Town Pink (Breast Cancer Awareness) today, so Jonathan got to be out of uniform and wear pink, Diana is always in pink, even GB & Grandpa Weeks were wearing pink. I am not sure what GB knew what she was getting into when she said she would read the kids some books in the hammock.

Hard to Say Goodbye

I don't think any of us wanted to say goodbye to Noah today. We will count the days until we see you again for Christmas.

Noah's Baptism

What a wonderful day today, celebrating Noah's Baptism. I was honored to be the Godmother!
